'Living Lion of Nepal' to the King of Nepal closed with a superb
strike of his seal in black (35x32 mm); very fine. He was Commander
in Chief of the Nepalese army, who had now been promoted to

reverse bearing a fine strike of his black seal. The message reads,
"Two Gorkha soldiers from Green Platoon, named Sintha and Harish,
have been caught red-handed spying for the British and have already

Bhim Sen Thapa in Katmandu, with the original letter which refers
to the British attack and capture of the fort in Almorha and
concludes, "... We have a strong force to defend Baitadi but
running short of funds". The seal is a little smudged. An important
letter in a crucial part of the war (Estimate £100 - £150)

with letter from Jang to the 4th Queen of King Surendra, the
reverse with his personal ring seal in black and ink marked
"Endorsed by Shri Jang Bahadur Kunwar Rana Ji". The Prime Minister
was on the battlefront for only about 5 weeks. The letter is
summarised as "I have received your letter dated 1912/2/15 with
greatest respectfulness. At present I am in Tonata (close to Kary
in Tibetan side). It's very cold here. We have reports that the
Tibetans have stationed their forces around Jhanga Fort. We shall
try for a peaceful settlement, but if they do not come to terms, we

(Oct.) letter to the Katmandu Court regarding the peace treaty with
the British; the letter reads, "General Bradshaw has told us that
the 15 day deadline has passed and if there is no positive reply of
the Draft Treaty they will have to launch another attack. We
requested him some more time, on this he was very angry, however,
he allowed 1-2 days. We are really anxious waiting for your reply".

Many Sikhs were killed and the troops of the Sikhs retreated across the Satrudra River, as the Sikhs could not carry their heavy guns ... and the artillery equipment, the English got victory over the Sikhs. In that occasion the English observed a festival having 21 fires in Calcutta Fort ..."; with translation. An interesting cover describing the battle of Aliwal which was fought on 28 January 1846. last day that this post office was inside Tibet. It is thought that
