Noted is a registered 1899 envelope sent to Sierra Leone franked with set of the eight values tied by double strikes of the barred circle pineapple cancel in black, with large 'R' in oval, neatly preseneted upon exhibition pages with a selection of stamps (8) with similar postmarks including a Cameo 2 d. block of four. Also, a 1902 printed Compagnie Français de l'Afrique Occidentale envelope sent registered to Switzerland franked with ½ d. and 1 s. pair tied by a Registered / Gambia dated oval code B, with large 'R' alongside, has vertical fold and creases caused by the original 4½ ounce content, otherwise fine and a scarce rate. The OHMS is sent to hull in 1899 franked with 4 d. and 6 d. tied by barred circle with London hooded circle registered alongside. Overall a fine group with the odd fault as would be expected. Provenance: Collection R.F. Bavington-Jones, June 1986 (Sierra Leone cover) and Leonard F. Weldhen, October 2022 (Switzerland cover)
