1970-75 Floral Coils 7c Sturt's Desert Pea SG 468b block of 4 Imperforate Vertically ACSC 535b, unusual-pattern machine cancellation with 'KING STREET/19NOV71/VIC 3000' datehead, large-part gum with small perf reinforcing, Cat $1200+ for two horizontal pairs. The ACSC states "At least four blocks of 4 (some now divided into horizontal pairs) are known ..." Since their discovery, there has been debate about the status of these coil oddities: our belief is that an uncut sheet, or part of a sheet was used for cancellation trials, that seem to have been unsuccessful because we have no other record of this marking.
