South Africa 1987 Bible Stamp. 40c. “The Word of God”. This stamp was prepared for use but, due to religious objections, was rejected. Superb unmounted mint condition. SACC 638 VERY RARE. These stamps were suppled to various South African Post Offices BEFORE the date of issue and, despite being instructed to withdraw the stamp because of religious objections, over 1500 copies were sold as well as a few Control Blocks and some First Day Covers. The remainder were officially destroyed in Pretoria.
