Small piece with fine used 1d black pl.7 (SG2) lettered FC with four good to large margins, tied red-brown Maltese Cross. Alongside fine strike (upside down) hand stamp '6' in red-brown, usage unclear but associated with the Liverpool to Manchester Railway. Stamp shows good 'O' flaw. (Ref 118134).

A good to fine 1880 1d pl.225 (SG43) lettered ME in fine unused condition with excellent original gum, several slightly shorter perforations at top but fine colour and plate numbers clearly visible at sides. Fine 'G W R' perfin of the Great Western Railway. Very unusual. (Ref 120044).

On reverse a good strike of this very scarce railway instructional mark partly overstruck by Marlborough and London date stamps AP 18 1857. (Ref 49186).
