1936 Kangting (28 Mar) to USA. AIrmail cover, f.w. SYS ovpt. Limited For Use in Szechuan 5c in strip of 5 + 25c, in total of 50c international letter + domestic airmail rate, tied by Kangting bilingual cds. Transit Chengtu (4 Apr), Shanghai (6 Apr). On front with “AIRMAIL SERVICE IN CHINA ONLY” cachet. Scarce example of Batang, dated just after the confrontation between KMT and CPC during Long March. The usage of Kangting instead of Tatsienlu cds is also rather early.
