Double arc CORK (April 25) and WATERFORD (April 26) transit cds's in black. Readdressed upon arrival to Lord Lisle at Lynmouth with prepaid charge "1" again in red ink, and three line dated "DEVONPORT / PY. POST" (April 29) and "MISSENT TO DEVONPORT" applied in red - a curious usage as the letter was redirected rather than misdirected. A fine and interesting entire.

Also on the front is a manuscript charge mark and an 'Add ½d' handstamp. A poor SHIP LETTER LIVERPOOL handstamp is on the reverse along with a DUMFRIES 23 SEP 1831 arrival datestamp. Very interesting contents re the conditions in Bahia, including assassinations and robberies and comments on the Portuguese living there, as well as accounts of the Murray family. A fine and very scarce item
