GPO / Mauritius arrival (April 1); 1941 cover to Arizona, USA franked at 20 c. rate with 10 c. pair tied "Pillar Box / General Post Office" (April 9) again with handstamp "3" alongside in black and OPENED BY CENSOR Reseal at left; 1944 postcard franked 2 c. for local use tied "Pillar Box / General Post Office" (Feb 18) with handstamp "3" alongside "Grand River S.E." cds. 1898: Stampless cover to a Wine Merchants' in Gibraltar, endorsed "Jebba, No Stamps Available", struck in transit with framed "THE ROYAL NIGER COAST COMPANY / CHARTERED & LIMITED / 27 JUN 1898 / POST OFFICE / BURUTU" in violet (Type 6). Initially erroneously charged twice the 2½ d. rate with large "5d." in black, deleted in blue crayon. Reverse with "LIVERPOOL / BR PACKET" cds (July 31) and Gibraltar arrival (Aug 5) in black with note alongside "Claret about 12/- / Burgundy 15/-". Some aging but scarce.

1897: Stampless mourning envelope to Gibraltar with circular regimental cachet "BATTALON PROVISIONAL DE PUERTO-RICO No. 1" in blue, treated as unpaid upon arrival in Spain in transit with "T / ESPAGNE' handstamp in black deleted in blue crayon manuscript. Reverse with partial despatch cds (May 14) and complete "Gibraltar " arrival cds (June 1) in black. Despite imperfections to envelope a rare example of Official Military mail sent after the insurrection of 1895 in Puerto Rico that had reached political autonomy in 1897 and prior to the American invasion of 1898.

(63,68) 1861 10c green Washington vertical pair and 1c blue Franklin tied by black cork cancels with red “New York Paid 18 May 1” (1867) cds also tying 1c on small narrow cover from Rochester, N.Y. to Gibraltar. Black "Rochester NY Apr 29" cds at bottom left, red “4R” accounting handstamp at center and "Gibraltar MY 17 67" receiving cds at top right.
The 21c franking pays the single-rate (up to 1/4 oz) to Gibraltar via France under the 1857 U.S.-France Convention. The cover was carried on to Spain after arrival into France (Calais & PD handstamps at right plus transit backstamp) then on to Gibraltar. 10c pair with tiny perf flaws from edge placement, light cover soiling, otherwise fine. A fine and very scarce destination usage to Gibraltar, combining a 10c pair with the 1c Franklin to meet the 21c treaty rate
