1871-1990: Specialist study of early Balloon voyages, set-out on twelve exhibition pages and loose pages, comprising an 1871 Ballon Monte cover flown on the 'Parmentier' and an 1888 August Toulet balloon flight from Brussels addressed to Berlin with early special event balloon cachet; also 4 essays (including pencil sketch portrait of Léon Gambetta with accompanying 1946 Paris-Montartre souvenir card franked with Gambetta 55 c.) of which 3 are original designs on cardboard by Finbar Kenny, 16 proofs (6 sunken) and 32 commemorative/balloon stamps. Condition is in the main fine. Scarce group. Ex. The ‘Izhak Barak’ Collection: The Development of Aviation and Transportation of Mail by Air until 1914.
