Reverse with Lurgan despatch cds in blue (Aug 31), Banbridge transit in green (Aug 31) and Rostrevor arrival cds in blue (Sept 1). A charming and scarce usage.

1784 (Oct 30): Entire letter from Dublin to Timoney, Roscrea, Tipperary sent under free concession and endorsed "Free: C. Heath 30 Oct." at lower left, Bishop Mark "OC / 30" despatch on reverse and obverse with circular "FREE / D" deleted with manuscript "Supposed Counterfeit" above and Inspector's marking "GR / ♚" in red adjacent. Charge raised of "1/4d." due to pay in manuscript. The Inspector's doubts were confirmed upon opening the letter which was from a Mr. William Conway, and the Official wrote "This frank is genuine except the date" alongside the sender's signature. A rare and most unusual entire.

Readdressed to Kingstown, Dublin with further CAVAN cds (Nov 24) with manuscript "Paid at" alongside and "1/3d." notation below. Dublin arrival in red (Nov 25) and circular "DUBLIN PENNY POST / 1d." in black. Generally fine to very fine strikes.

1842: Entire letter from Dublin to Limerick, cancelled contrary to regulations with fine complete strike of the Maltese Cross in black with Dublin despatch just above the Cross in red (July 17). Reverse with Limerick arrival cds in black (July 18). If adhesives have been removed the entire was still contrary to regulations, and it appears that the Dublin cancellation was placed specifically in its position so that there was no charge raised in Limerick.
