Oct.): An uncut Red Cross Aerial Post Card (177x160 mm) franked with 1913 ½ d. green, cancelled by "AERIAL POST South Africa -7.Oct. 18" posted by P.M.G to the Postmaster of Wynberg. 4th Transvaal Flight to Pretoria 1918 (Nov. 27): Red Cross Aerial Postcard written by Rev. Vautier of the Swiss Mission in Pretoria, addressed to his family in Lausanne, Switzerland, franked with 1d. tied by "AERIAL POST SOUTH AFRICA 27.NOV.18". On reverse large message written in French: "Pretoria, Nov. 22nd, Tuesday I should go to J'burg the journey will continue by train then ship. Let's hope it is not delayed too much (They are not sur when the pilot will pick these up)" with an additional note, dated Wednesday Nov. 27th (wrong Date, sic!, as Wednesday was the 26th Nov.!!), writing: "The pilot will not be calling today to collect the mail - hence the hold-up for this card. if I'd know beforehand I would not have let a fortnight pass without sending something. All is fine here." The card was carried then Thursday Nov. 27th, on the flight from Johannesburg to Pretoria and forwarded via England to Switzerland. A very scarce foreign destination. Nov.): Red Cross Aerial Post Card "Make Your Sixpence Fly" of second printing, showing on reverse hand-painted comic "Your Postcard Miss!" in black ink, franked with ½ d. green tied by clear strike of special dated postmark "Aerial Post -24. Nov.A18" addressed to Johannesburg. Card with blue 'wings'- imprint little shifted to top of Red Cross. A fine and unusual usage.

1918 (Nov. 19): 'An Aerial Message: Dropped by Military Aeroplane in the Transvaal - From the Red Cross to the Public of the Transvaal', the scarce leaflet (21,6 x 17,4 cm) formerly vertially and horizontally folded used as a promotion of the Red Cross military display opening at the Wanderers Ground 20th November. Lieutenant Gearing made a special flight over Johannesburg using a then the new method of distributing propaganda dropping printed leaflets headed “AN AERIAL MESSAGE". The leaflet encourages the public to buy and post the Red Cross Aerial Post Cards. Today, these are accepted as major aerophilatelic rarities.
