1929 CAPE SALOU, TARRAGONA, SPAIN. On September 12th, while en route from Casablanca, Morocco, to Toulouse, France, the Compagnie Générale Aéropostale Latécoère 25-3.R aircraft crashed into the sea at Cape Salou, close to Tortosa, near Tarragona. The occupants were rescued by Spanish ships and the mail was recovered the following day. A two line cachet ‘ACCIDENT D’AVION / EN MER’ was applied to recovered mail. This cover from Casablanca to France has an Aube 15-9-29 arrival datestamp on the back. One stamp was washed off while in the water. An uncommon crash cover from Morocco
