1914: Exhibition page comprising unused multiples of single line perforated items (4), describing the method of perforating using the single line perforating machine. Showing each of the four positions where perforation pin guide holes were located within the selvedge to assist perforating machine operators, where material was added on the left side to generate coloured dots, and material removed from the Jubilee lines on the right side to create white voids. The four items are; a block of six (2 x 3) (8/35-36 to 47-48), two blocks of four (5/25-26, 31-32 and 7/25-26, 31-32) and a vertical strip of three (6/36, 42, 48). With some perf. separation and reinforcement. A very difficult group to assemble. Also included is a block of 23 single line perf., pos.7/1-3 through 37-39 and 44-45, printed prior to the appearance of major flaw Secret Mark (7/1), Wattle Line (7/31) and Neck Flaw (7/37), showing single line perf. guide holes and full selvedge with minor perf. reinforcements, condition fine. Condition is mainly fine. Useful selection. BW = $ 1'255.

Australian States: Collection contained with a large stock book, with a wide-ranging representation of the classic issues of New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia, including both used and unused material. Strength throughout, New South Wales with good represented of early imperforate issues through to side profile types, including higher values and multiples; Queensland with small selection of Chalons and later issues including a large marginal block of 1 s.; South Australia with useful range including imperforate and perforated issues to higher values; Western Australia with a good range of the Swan issues across multiple denominations, shades and printings, including several multiples; and Victoria with early issues and later line-engraved types. The collection shows particular depth in multiples and positional pieces, with numerous blocks and marginal examples, offering scope for further study of plates, shades and printings. Condition variable as to be expected, though many fine to very fine examples noted. A most attractive and valuable foundation collection of the Australian States, with clear potential for expansion and specialisation.
