1952 cover sent air mail to Radio Pakistan, Karachi, with, on the
back, a BAHRAIN 4 ANNAS on G.B. 4d (SG 76) and a British Postal
Agencies in Eastern Arabia 2 ANNAS on G.B. 2d (SG 38) tied by a
fine DOHA 27 OC 52 cancel. A Karachi 29 OCT 52 arrival cancel is
also on the back of the cover. The post office in Doha opened in
May 1950 and residents could use either the stamps of Bahrain or
those of the British Postal Agencies in Eastern Arabia. This cover
with the combination of the two stamps is rare. A fine, rare and

overprinted QATAR and surcharged 20 NP. The 40 NP paid the air mail
rate for a ½ ounce letter to the UK. The stamps have been cancelled
