As part of our auction at StampShow 2017 in Richmond, Virginia, we will be offering "The Joseph Hackmey Collection - A Selection of Classic British North American and United States Postal History." Included in the sale are an exceptional array of postal history from Canada, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia, as well as a strong selection of classic US covers. Some highlights include:
- The only known cover from New Brunswick to South America (Lot 15)
- One of two known quadrisects from Nova Scotia (Lot 16)
- The only known partial gutter pair of all Canadian pence issues (Lot 29)
- The only known soldier’s rate letter from Canada (Lot 41)
- The only known Canadian double-rate “Crimean War” rate cover (Lot 55)
- Prussian Closed Mail cover from the US to Switzerland (Lot 86)
