French Colonies, Used in Cochinchina, Tay Ninh, 1859, 20c Blue on Bluish (4; Yvert 4). Large margins, tied by dotted "CCN2" cancel with "Cochinchine Tay-Ninh 25 Juil 68" double-circle datestamp on cover to Paris, sender's directive "Voie francaise", well-struck large "TELEGRAPHIE COCHINCHINE, TAY-NINH" handstamp on back, red framed "PD" handstamp, blue "Etab. F. Inde. Paq. F., 3 Mars 3, 4 Sept. 68" octagonal entry datestamp, addressee's last name excised, Very Fine and rare use of the 20c Eagle issue from the telegraph office in Tay Ninh, paying the military concessionary rare but sent through the civilian post office, we presume either the military datestamp was inadvertently omitted or this was supposed to be charged postage due, but was overlooked, the telegraphic handstamp might have been mistaken for a military cachet
