An extremely rare stamp with just 8 examples recorded. Cert. RPSL (1980) Gi 32c = £ 3'000 / Scott 12c = $ 5'200. Note: This variety was first reported in "L'Union Postale Universelle" in July 1893. Since that time, just 8 examples have been found. Gerhard Blank states that all the known examples have the watermark, pos. 4, in the identical position, thus all must have emanated from the same sheet. Only one, perhaps two examples have complete margins. Provenance: Collection Dr. Siebert, Köhler sale 332, Wiesbaden, 13-14 March 2008, lot 1796.
