1915, from Duala, Cameroon to Lome, Togo, franked with 10pf carmine German Kamerun stamp overprinted C E F and surcharged 1d in British currency, tied by clear DUALA 6 12 15 KAMERUN cancellation, addressed to the Bank of British West Africa, arrival postmark on reverse LOME 19 12 15 TOGO, written in elegant cursive hand, represents usage during British occupation of former German colony, provisional issue created by overprinting captured stocks of German colonial stamps for the Cameroons Expeditionary Force, scarce and desirable destination within West Africa, ex Kugel, VF! part ...more British Occupation 1915: 5+5 pf. green, reply postal card (reply part attached unused), overprinted "C.E.F" and surcharged "½d" in black, variety 'Short "1" in fraction' (in both cases), watermark DR 1., used from Duala to Birmingham, England dated 26 October 1915, endorsed "On Active Service / no stamps available", cancelled by "DUALA (KAMERUN)" circular datestamp in black. A fine and scarce example. One of three recorded. Cert. RPSL (2009).

1915: Lot including a picture postcard from German Kamerun, franked
with a ½ d. on 5 pf. colonial stamp and addressed to Lome, Togo,
with an additional censor cancel. It also features three
'Blatter-covers', each differently franked with surcharged stamps:
one with a 1 d. from Nigeria, another with a 9 d. from Northern
Nigeria, and one with an overprint stamp from Moyen Congo. All are
registered and have arrival marks from Berne. The set includes
three issued cards with CTO cancellations, one of which is
addressed and marked with a pen cancellation on a ½ d. card. The
unused cards in the lot comprise eight ½ d on 5 Pf cards, five
reply cards, one single reply , and six 1d on 10 pf. cards.
Additionally, there is a field post card and a field post envelope.
