TELEGRAM 1918 (11th May), headed ‘THE AFRICAN TRANSCONTINENTAL
TELEGRAPH COMPANY, LIMITED.’ The message, concerning military
matters, was handed in at Limbe and a ZOMBA / A.T. TEL (11 May)
single circle datestamp was applied by the delivering office and a
straight-line ‘ZOMBA’ handstruck in bluish green below, above a
printed ‘BLANTYRE.’ Interestingly, the form states the Telegraph
Company observes ‘Rhodesian Mean Time’. Most unusual and a scarce
survivor.
