study collection arranged on twenty-eight album pages,
informatively written-up, comprising a wide range of postal
markings and usages, including a run of post marks referenced in
Lee numbers 6/94, Loose Ship markings with additional unrecorded
type, Kokoda Assistant Resident Magistrate cancellation (Lee type
67, scarcity F), NEPA Central Division strikes (illustrated in Lee,
p.9), rare T.P.O. cancels, Queensland used in BNG, Queensland and
New South Wales marks on Lakatoi issues, C.T.O., postage due
markings, Thursday Island cancellations, censor and further scarce
maritime and administrative markings including money order section.
A comprehensive and carefully assembled reference collection
illustrating the wide variety of postal history associated with the
Lakatoi issues; condition mixed in places as to be expected for
postmark material, though many fine. A scarce and difficult study
to assemble, offering scope for further research or expansion
