Lebanon Postal History. Photo Post Card of the Champollion wreck washed up on the coast near Beirut, sent on 29 December 1952 by the three Baltagi brothers to the Lebanese Ambassador in France, Ahmad Bey Daouk, thanking him for a telegram sent after the successful rescue. Message was written in French and signed by the brothers responsible for rescuing the ship's passengers on 22 December 1952. UNIQUE AND PRESTIGIOUS WITNESS OF THE CHAMPOLLION SHIPWRECK

Lebanon Postal History. Post Card previously attempted to post in 1917 attested by Beirut's Ottoman Censor mark, sent to Denmark on 2 November 1918 by the British Military Post Office. Franked with two ½ penny green stamps cancelled by the C1 UNRECORDED section "B" postmark of post office "SZ 8" based in Beirut. Transit in Port Said on 15/11/1918 and controlled by censor N 10. VERY RARE
