Fascinating, Wide-Ranging Selection of Afghan and Afghan-related
Covers, a select and diverse group of 12 covers showing a
varied range of uses. Includes a remarkable 1942 cover from
Peshawar to Meerut, addressed to "Col. L. Lawrence-Smith, Cavalry
Div," from dealer K.A. Gai, and containing the original approval
book, which itself is laden with some pretty heady issues. We also
note a lovely 1890 Bukhara to India via Brindisi cover, an
attractive 1889 Arbuckle Coffee trade card showing an eye-catching
map of Afghanistan, a rare Tasmania franked incoming cover to
"Cabul" with "Refused" and Bombay D.L.O. markings, a 1905 Germany
to Kandahar cover with auxiliary markings including "Not Claimed",
a Third Afghan War 1a overprinted India postal stationery entire to
Waziristan with "F.P.O. No. 144" cancel, etc. A valuable and
attractive selection for the student, fully imaged online. Shipping
