Proofs of ½d stamps; Die 1266 recut 5 single from Plates 51-2 registered 17 August 1744, pair of dies 1453 and 1454 recut 2 from Plates 59-60 registered 24 November 1743, and Die 1575 from Plates 63-4 registered 1 June 1744. Newspapers; The Spectator 23 September 1712 (the month after Newspaper Tax was introduced) stamped with a fine ½d die 45, 1753 Caledonian Mercury stamped ½d and marked Plate 71, 1762 Edinburgh Evening Courant stamped ½d + ½d and marked Plate 2 (stamps that include the Plate number on document are scarce), 1792 Morning Post stamped ½d + ½d +½d + ½d, 1802 Gloucester Herald stamped ½d + ½d + ½d + ½d + 1½d marked with 16 ct and addnl 4½ PrCt and 1838 Sun (The QV Jubilee Coronation Number) stamped 1d SUN/NEWSPAPER in poor condition, example of the 1836 Type 57 crossed CANCELLED stamp on Southampton Chronicle Supplement ½d stamp and replaced with a 1d Southampton Chronicle Newspaper Stamp. Prices Current: Firms' Circulars; 1847 1d A die on Price Current posted Liverpool to Trieste and 1858 1d I die on Price Current posted Liverpool to Virginia with extra 1d postage, made up with a perf 16 1d red, these both scarce and ex Champion. Irish newspapers; 34 from c1815-1818 with large 1d or 2d stamps (including two types of 2d stamp), 1848 Duffy's Catholic Magazine front with 1d Die G2 (ex Champion), and a stockcard with cutouts of the large 1d and 2d stamps (5), including a large 1d stamp including the Plate number 28 (very scarce, but soiled where the stamp was printed across the paper fold).
