VAT-exempt coins (B): usually gold coins that are legal means of payment or have been valid since 1800, or which, according to the European Commission's list, meet the criteria for VAT-free investment gold. The customer only pays the premium of 18.5% on top of the hammer price.
Coins and medals subject to differential taxation (D): The buyer pays 22% of the hammer price. This sum includes the statutory value added tax.
