Mads Hvas Mörck was Trade Manager in Thorshavn 1805-1831. Picture of the contents is enclosed (the original is in the Danish National Archive). The letter is dated in Leith the 19 July 1813 and was carried by Captain Jürgen Bohnitz in the ship "Den Nye Jubelfest". It was received in Thorshavn on 29 July 1813. The sender was "Corbett, Borthwick & Company", merchants based in Dock Street, North Leith. From 1810 they were one of the main suppliers of goods to Greenland, but also to a certain degree to the Faroe Islands.
