in Stockholm (Schweden) über Hamburg, Greifswald (Pommern), Ystad,
vorderseitig schwarzer Stempel « ZÜRICH 3 OCT. 36 », sowie
schwarzer « AUSLAG VON ZÜRICH », rückseitig Transit Hamburg. Tarif:
4 Kreuzer an Zürich und 2 Kreuzer an Bern, Thurn und Taxis
belastete 16 Hamburger Schillinge, welche in 17 Pommerische
Schillinge umgerechnet wurden, dazu Porto von 4 Pommerischen
Schillingen für die Strecke von Hamburg nach Greifswald, diese 21
Pommerischen Schillinge wurden in Stockholm in 54 Skilling Banco
umgerechnet, dazu kommen 24 Skilling für die Strecke Greifswald
nach Stockholm über Ystad. Schweden ist eine sehr seltene

Cts. schwarz im waagerechten Paar, in wunderbar frischen Farben,
allseits breitrandig geschnitten, auf Brief von Porrentruy (Kanton
Jura) nach Chaumont, je ideal klar, zentrisch und übergehend
entwertet mit französischer Gitterraute und nebengesetzt «
PORRENTRUY 28 AOUT 49 », sowie roter Grenzübergangsstempel « BERNE
AOUT 49 DELLE » und rotes PD im Kasten, rückseitig Ankunftsstempel
Chaumont. Der Postmeister in Porrentruy hat zuerst Vermerk « TIMBRE
NUL EN SUISSE » angebracht, der aber bei der Grenzübergabe in Delle
durchgestrichen wurde. An der gleichen Stelle wurden die Marken
entwertet und der rote PD Stempel angebracht, der ein weiterer
Beweis für die Anerkennung der Marken ist. Eine einmalige,
anerkannte Verwendung der 1. Französischen Ausgabe im Kanton Jura.

Ankunftsstempel Warschau. Laut Schäfer ist Post nach Polen « extrem
selten » und wird mit 12 Punkten bewertet (CHF 15000). Attest

breitrandig mit leichtem diagonalen Bug, auf Faltbrief (leicht mit
Falzen gestützt) von Basel über die Eisenbahnlinie Strasbourg-Paris
nach Nancy, je entwertet mit schwarzem Einkreisstempel Basel und
nebengesetzt wiederholt, sowie schwarzes PD im Kasten und roter
Frankostempel « 7/AED », rückseitig Bahnpoststempel Strasbourg à
Paris und Ankunftsstempel Nancy. Laut Handbuch Schäfer sind nur 5
Mischfrankaturen Strubel-Ausland überhaupt bekannt, somit eine
grosse Rarität und ideales Belegstück. Attest Hermann 2026, in
welchem er fälschlicherweise den 17. Dezember als Stempeldatum für
die Napoleonmarke angibt

Leeds to Manchester. A fine and very rare plate 1a multiple on cover,
this block of four (CD–DE) shows moderate plate wear but remains
fresh with four clear margins on the outer stamps. Affixed to a
cover from Leeds, 15 May 1840, to Manchester, the stamps are tied
by light orange-red Maltese Crosses. The cover originally bore a
wax seal, along with the year portion of the Leeds MY 15 cds, both
of which have been removed, and the block has been lifted for
examination.A highly desirable May-date usage, especially in a
block, representing one of the scarcer plate 1a multiples on cover,
combining postal history, condition, and rarity. Provenance: From

ShowpieceA highly desirable multiple, this left-hand sheet marginal
block of eight (KI–LL) retains the rare and prized inscription
“ards the RIGHT HAND SIDE of the Letter”, a feature of immense
philatelic significance. Margins are just touched at lower left,
otherwise clear, and each stamp is lightly struck with red Maltese
Cross cancellations, adding to the block’s visual appeal.Some
pressed creasing is present, typical of large multiples from this
period, but it in no way detracts from the block’s marvellous
overall appearance. This is a superb display piece, combining
rarity, condition, and historical importance.Stanley Gibbons
