alongside. The entire was transferred to the French P.O. in
Alexandria, there struck by “ALEXANDRIE EGYPTE” cds in black (Dec
24) and reached Marseille with a British vessel, part strike of
“PAQ. ANG MARSEILLE” cds in red (Jan 7, 64). The Russian
pre-payment was not accepted, and the letter charged with ‘10’
décimes. An exceptional combination cover from Syria using for its
journey Russian and British Shipmail services mediated by the
French P.O. in Alexandria. Most interesting, fine and attractive,
signed Sorani, cert. Buchsbayew (2024). Provenance: Pavlovsk

alongside. An unusual entire - the writer mentions that they hope
to reach Suez on the 16th or 17th and thus the cover was written
off Hodeida or Jeddah, he also states a passing steamer had brought
news that War had been declared between Austria and France which
will make the journey home via Marseilles impossible.
