1865–1960 Revenue Stamps – Attractive and Varied Accumulation: An
appealing and diverse accumulation of predominantly used revenue
stamps, offered both in singles and multiples, together with a
modest selection of unused examples, including some bearing
overprinted Specimen. The collection shows notable strength in the
Embossed Stamp Duty issues, along with a broad representation of
Queen Victoria, Edward VII, and George V material. Also included is
a valuable group of Great Britain revenues with various Irish
overprints, such as Saorstát Éireann, Saorstát Éireann 1922, and
Rialtas Sealadach na hÉireann, which add significant philatelic and
historical interest. Complementing the adhesives is a fine array of
documents bearing fiscal usages, providing important context and

two ...mehr Falkland Islands. 1878-1937 extensive mint and used collection in two Oriel albums, the KEVII-KGV section especially good for South Georgia and New Island cancels, including two 1890s souvenir strikes of the Black Frank (no red), 1878-79 no watermark 4d. apparently unused, 1/- block of four unused, no watermark set used, 1885-91 1d. and 4d. mint and used range (the latter with watermark varieties), 1891-1902 set with shades including 2½d. Prussian blue used, 1898 high values set mint and used; several multiples, noting 1891-1902 2d. full pane of 60 (some perf. separation), several scarcer cancels, corks noting "metal ring" (Barnes 7/94) on 4d. CA reversed, also a very fine strike of the "Government House Rec.d." on ½d. , the "W.Falkland.W.Islands" c.d.s. of Fox Bay on ½d. (1) and 1d. (3), two Chile cancels; 1904-12 set overprinted "specimen", used set with shades, noting ½d. and 1d. with New Island c.d.s. (Heijtz N.2), 1912-20 set mint and used, with higher values shades, 3/- corner block of four mint, overprinted "specimen", cancellation interest with 1d. and 2d. New Island, South Georgia, 1d. R.M.S. Falkland ship cancel (Heijtz SC.2), 1d. strip of three used in Tønsberg (Norway), a good study of the 1918-20 War Stamp overprint noting albino impressions, multiples, a usage on cover, used in South Georgia (2), 1921-29 set mint and used, 3/- mint (4) used (1) in South Shetlands, again with cancellation interest, noting "h.m.c.s. "afterglow"/posted on board" oval (4), a most striking 1d. strip of seven used on piece with New Island c.d.s. (Heijtz N.2) with part registration label, "deception island/south shetlands" oval (2), GB KGV ½d. and 1d. tied to piece with Falklands c.d.s. and Paquebot h.s. alongside, 1929-26 Penguin set mint and used (10/- and £1 used in South Shetlands), set to 1/- perforated "specimen", various multiples with values to 1/- mint block of four, 1933 Centenary set mint, and set to 10/- used , noting 5/- black and yellow-orange, a further 5/- tied to piece by Fox Bay c.d.s., the following sets perforated "specimen": 1935 Silver Jubilee set, 1937 Coronation and 1938-50 set. A few covers in the collection, noting two QV and three KGV registered formula envelopes (noting one to New Zealand), KGV 2d. strip of three on wrapper to H. Clement at Roy Cove, 1d. imperial rate (2), 4d. registered cover (paying 3d. registration). An excellent assembly neatly written up. Viewing essential to fully appreciate. (Estimate £6000 - £8000)
