registered, from 1860s with India Paid handstamps, useful values
such as 4a black and green; some mixed condition

covers, one damaged part entire and a four margined pair on part
entire, 1a envelope and content including a colour map of the
Cantonment of Dera Ismail Khan (stamp damaged), two further entires
and another with two singles on outer letter sheet to Calcutta
endorsed "per Fire Queen", 4a cut-to-shape on large part entire
Meerut to London, two cut-to-shape singles on part cover to Ireland
and an outer letter sheet with two cut-to-shape but missing a stamp

1926, Stephen Smith airmail card, from Zurich 28.11 1926, bearing
airmail stamp 1923 75 cent orange, transit Alexandria 11.12, to
Stephen Smith in Calcutta. Card with endorsement "Via Schweizer
Afrikaflug" and cachet 1926 November Schweizer Afrikaflug, also
blue "Mit Flugpost" label. On back is Stephen Smith signature and
his personal marking "Honorary Secretary Aero Philatelic Club of
India". A most unusual card from Switzerland to the great name of
Indian aerophilately

cut square, various colour shades, used on large part of front of a
heavy cover from Calcutta to Marseilles, all tied by diamond of
dots, with forwarder h/s from "Durrschmidt & Co.", red boxed "INDIA
PAID", red French paquebot dater "... 13 ... 55 MARSEILLE" and
various charge marks. Few stamps with minor imperfections, fine
else. A rare and most attractive franking on this near to complete
front of a quintuple weight cover

11 MAR 56 MARSEILLE" and various charge marks. Two stamps (2nd row)
affected by a horiz. cover fold, fine else. A rare and most
attractive franking on this near to complete front of a quadruple
weight cover
