unused ...mehr 1870/72: 1 real deep yellow on medium white wove paper, a fine unused block of twenty-five (5 x 5), sheet margins with marginal framelines cut away, positions 46-50/82-86, with position 64 showing "Indented Left Vertical Frameline" flaw; position 66 with "Diagonal Scratch from Centre Circle to Base" Plate flaw and positions 83 with lower right corner shaved; the multiple with small hole at right of position 76, nevertheless of fresh colour with large part or unmounted og. A rare large multiple. Signed Bühler.

unused block of eight, marginal from base of sheet with huge
margins all round, interesting flaw on second stamp with two breaks
in right margin (probably from dust on the plate), superb and
fresh, large part or unmounted og. A fine and scarce multiple Gi =
$ 400+.

ultramarine ...mehr Lots & Collections 1865/72: The Plating Study, with ½ r. ultramarine (96 examples unused and used incl. an unused block of four); 1 r. yellow (shades) with 43 examples incl. an unused block of four from top right of sheet, two further blocks of four and a block of twelve; 1 r. green with 25 examples incl. two used pairs; but perhaps the most astonishing part of the lot is the Plating Study collection formed in France on leaves with photographs of all the 1st. printing positions of both the ½ r. and 1 real values: this last very rare.
