postcard, including 10 registered items, from Kenya, Uganda,
Tanganyika and Mozambique, variously addressed to destinations
including the UK, Seychelles, Ethiopia and Entebbe. Frankings range
from 5c. to 4s.10, with an exceptionally wide spread of rates and
denominations, including 5c., 10c., 15c., 20c., 30c., 35c., 40c.,
45c., 50c., 60c., 65c., 70c., 75c., 80c., 85c., 90c., 95c., 1s.,
1s.05, 1s.30, 1s.35, 1s.50, 2s., 2s.25, 2s.50, 3s., 3s.50 and
4s./4s.10, including numerous registered and high-value
frankings.Cancellations represent a wide range of offices and
T.P.O.s, including Amani, Bukoba, Chunya, Entebbe, Iringa,
Kakamega, Kikuyu, Kilimanjaro T.P.O., Morogoro, Mufindi, Mwanza,
Nakuru, Naivasha, Ruiru, Songea, Tabora–Mwanza T.P.O., Thompson
Falls, Turbo Valley, USA River and Voi. Notable items include a
Mozambique–Entebbe cover with 40c. Postage Due applied on arrival,
a GB 1d. re-addressing franking, and a small group of large-format
envelopes including material from the Capt. Druett Nairobi–London
correspondence with frankings up to 4s.Condition generally a little
mixed, as expected, but overall a substantial and highly useful lot
offering excellent scope for the detailed study of East African
postal rates and routes in the 1930s (120+) (Estimate £1000 -
