Austrian P.O. 1867: Unpaid cover from Odessa (Sept 4) to London,
carried as Consignee's mail to Varna where mailed with fine "VARNA
/ 18 SET." despatch datestamp (Tchilinghirian fig. 884) in
blue-green. Charged '15' in blue manuscript (kreuzer) and struck
with fine large "5½" handstamp (silver groschen) on the
Cöln-Verviers Travelling P.O. No. 10 in black (Van der Linden fig.
3077). Charged "1s." due to pay on arrival. A fine and scarce
cover. Provenance: J. Robineau, Paris, 22 April 1983, lot 912

1871 cover endorsed "via Varna" and similarly cancelled, 1875
slightly defective cover similarly endorsed and cancelled with
framed UNFRANKIRT in black. An interesting group
