1867/72: Straits covers (2) with earlier cover bearing 12 c. blue
horizontal pair used on 1868 cover from Singapore to Exeter,
England endorsed "Southampton" at top, tied by two strikes of
"SINGAPORE / D14" duplex in black. Reverse with Exeter arrival cds
(Jan 30, 1869); and second cover dated 1876 used from Penang to
Edinburgh with 8 c. orange and 24 c. green, small corner fault on
latter, cancelled by "B/172" obliterators in black and by
"Registered / London" datestamp (22 Jan 1877) in red. Framed
"Registered Letter" at left and PENANG despatch cds in red (Dec
16). Both with a few faults but scarce.
