1891: Stationery postal card provisional surcharge “2” in red on 3
cents blue on buff, uprated with 1892, 8 cents ultramarine, tied by
barred oval in black, with cds "PENNANG" JY 26 92" and
registrations information box numbered “259” alongside sent to
Netherlands, East Indies. Vertical crease centrally well clear of
stamps. Fine. Rare; one of two known. (H&G 9)Note: Only 500
provisional cards were produced in red, most are reported to have
been used as local “newspaper” address cards
