The Transition Period 1836-1858 - More Routes and first Steamers;
1847 (July 2): Entire letter privately forwarded from Florø to
Bergen, endorsed "Ved Godhed af Lendsmand J. Tyvold". The content
of the entire mentions that the letter was to be forwarded by
steamer, i.e. by the "D/S Constitutionen", the only steamer in this
waters. Note: It was forbidden to carry privately letters on routes
where official mail transport existed, a rule obviously not
followed in this case. The family name Tyvold / Tyvald is known
from Kinn, a small island offshore from Florø.
