This spring's special stamp auction is proud to present another traditionally strong Austria section, starting at pre-philately and a small special section of disinfected mail. Our classic section contains numerous interesting cancellations and covers. The Austria section is based on a collection of 1st republic air mail, a collection of pre-1914 Austrian marine covers from the Mediterranean and Levant areas as well as far east collected over the course of decades. Alongside scarce registered mail, there are topical sections of the Blockade of Crete, the Boxer Rebellion and the Beijing/Tientsin marine detachments. This section is concluded by POW mail exclusively from Austrian marine members in Chinese camps during and post-WWI.
The 1945 overprint issues contain a vertical strip of 5 of the Graz 5 RM with a diagonal overprint as well as a complete sheet of the unreleased 3 Pfennig value of extraordinary quality. Both lots come with current photo certificates.
The auction's international section offers a Zeppelin collection starting with the pioneer period as well as two Baltic philately rarities. Furthermore we auction the only known Ballon-Monte cover to the Baltic States in existence (according to current research) and a Russia no. 1 on cover from Reval to the north of Estonia.
Short Terms and Conditions
22% Commission (inc. V.A.T.) on top of the hammer price, lots are sold under the Margin system.
18,34% Commission + 20% V.A.T. is charged on lots marked with a "+".
