Kelleher Celebrating 140 Years

Featuring over 850 lots of United States & Possessions Graded or Certified Singles, Multiples, Plate Blocks, Full Sheets and Errors

The sale boasts many stunning and elusive singles whose attributes in many cases exceed the numeric grade they have received. Painstakingly curated one at a time, any of these would be a welcome addition to the most discerning collection. Rare imperforate and color errors that are seldom encountered are present, some of the scarcest examples in nice quality. Full mint sheets including two of my favorites: the Fourth Bureau $5 Freedom Statue (#573) and the imperforate-between 6¢ Airmail Eagle & Shield (#C23c).

Reprints of the 1847 and 1857 Issues, as well as the Reissues of the 1869s are well represented, with strength beginning to build with the Bank Note and Small Bank Note issues. These are followed by sensational Columbian, Small Bureau, Trans-Mississippi, Pan-American, Second Bureau, Louisiana Purchase and Jamestown Issues, Washington-Franklins with numerous coils including the Orangeburg, Bluish Papers, 1909 Commemoratives, Panama-Pacifics and extensive additional Washington-Franklins, plus Pilgrim Tercentenary, Fourth Bureaus, Kansas-Nebraskas including a full set of sheets of the Kansas issue, and Presidential and Liberty Series each with an exemplary $5 Coolidge and $5 Hamilton sheet.

Airmails are also well represented, including full sheets of #C1 and C4 plus graded singles of most issues. Special Delivery & Postage Dues are represented along with stunning Shanghai Overprints. Officials, Newspapers and Parcel Posts round out the US, with some Savings & Revenue Issues rarely seen as graded items. Possessions, including Canal Zone, Hawaii with some full sheets, Philippines and Puerto Rico close the sale.

All in all, the Everest sale provides to the market some of the most desirable items that would please the most discriminating collector. This is just the first installment of the over 3000 items that graced the owner s collection. More to come this Fall including Graded Canada with imperforate pairs plus a sale of the finest 98, 98J, 100 and 100J singles in our Aristocrat sale.
