Kelleher auctions will be conducting a Flagship Public Auction sale in its Danbury, CT Gallery on February 21-23, 2023, starting at 10 am each day. The sale contains over 1400 lots of quality material from around the globe. Highlighting material from 35 consignors, the sale offers a wealth of British Commonwealth with particularly strong Great Britain including material from the Kemp. C Fairbanks II collection, (ranging from Mulreadies to Officials), strong Canada including classic First Day Covers, and exquisite specialized Argentina from the William F. Csolkovits collection, with single lots and issue compilations. US offers a nice range of postal history including Exposition cards, early First Days from the Alan Leighton collection, fancy cancels and more. Stamps start with an array of Essays/Trial Colors/Proofs and continue strong through Possessions. Highlights include attractive 1847s including Railroad uses, Premiere Gravures, popular modern Errors, including a Hat stamp error which first appeared in a Linn’s article about the find – which happened over two decades ago – and has just recently become available on the market, High Grade US regular issue and commemorative singles from the George J. Poulos collection, solid Airs, Dues, Officials and Revenues, with individual show-stoppers including #11X1, a magnificent #8, #171, a full pane of the 15¢ Columbian, and Pan-American inverts #294a (2) and 296aSE. There is a substantial selection of Postal Stationery from the Ferguson collection, including many rarities.
