Auction 581 includes a total of 776 items, where among them a piece of the J.Mascini collection concerning the operation of the foreign post offices in the Ottoman Empire is presented. Austrian, Brittish, French, German, Italian, Russian, Egyptian, Roumanian and Polish post offices, both the stamps as well as the postal history are presented there.
Between these auction items, highlights include item No.8392 – a Cover posted with 2x1pi. Egyptian stamps and arrival cancelation “POSTE KHEDEUIE EGIZIANE CONSTANTINOPOLI 20 OTT 1875”, item No.8572 – a 30gr. German stamp, with hand-written cancelation “Constantinopel/27.12.72” (this item also comes along with a H.Bothe (1969) certificate) and item No.8773 – a Cover from Smyrne with Russian Levant Stamp and “COMPANIE RUSSE DE NAVIGATIO/SMYRNE*1865” cancelation, posted to Alexandria.
