Romanian Post, Treaty with Austria; 1869 (Aug 17): Double rate Newspaper wrapper from Bucharest to Paris, bearing a splendid block of four 1869 Prince Carol without beard 10 bani blue, cancelled by crisp strike of double-circle "BUCURESTI SERA" datestamp (Kiriac fig. 444), framed 'P.D.' alongside, reverse with WIEN transit cds. The wrapper shortened at left, some toning, the block of four in an outstanding quality and beauty, these multiples on cover are almost unknown, only one other newspaper wrapper to France recorded in the double rate.
