Very beautiful and very early outgoing courier mail, with pencil
note1638. The same year as the inauguration of a postal system in
the Finnish part of the Swedish Kingdom. Written by Jacob Danielson
on the ÅLAND ISLANDS and sent to Reinhart Lehusen (Admiral
Commissarius) in STOCKHOLM. Only five Courier letters known from
Åland. Ex Folke Löfström. Enclosed copy of his exhibition page.

Six Feathers An exceptional cover with six feathers dated 24 April
1814 from ECKERÖ to DJEKENBÖLE with one brown feather supplemented
by five small brown/white feathers in another seal. Thus making
sure that the cover, sent at 10 o´clock in the evening, should
arrive before 9 o´clock in the morning next day. Noted on front and
mentioned in the contents. As well at lower right corner endorsed
"Fortskaffas" with a small paper substitute at the tip, where the
paper was broken due to the seal, which was placed after diagonal

1831, ...di più Spectacular incoming disinfected free letter, dated 18 October 1831, with full contents (Fribref No. 68 = free letter). Very rare notation "Sub Secreto" = extremely secret. The very hasty forwarding of this secret service letter from the state chancellery from ÅBO to ÅLAND was probably carried out by a special courier, because the letter received neither a charter number nor the cyrillic postmark from Åbo, which was already in use at the time, in the Åbo post office. One of Five Recorded A wonderful "PORTOSTEMPEL" envelope 10 kopek,
type I with very clear "KASTELHOLM" in cyrillic letters. Facit
10.000 + 15.000 for the postmark. Enclosed an article in "Luppen"
1998 No. 1 by Mårten Sundberg, picturing the five envelopes
recorded with this postmark, showing that this is the most clear

as arrival postmark). A special postmark for "FRANKO" & "OFRANK",
in which it was possible to change the place of the "О". The letter
received postmark "OFRANK" in Kastelholm and rate marking "porto" =

5 JUNI 1858". Sent to KASTELHOLM and addressed to Franz von
Knorring. The flap of the cover is separated and refastened and the
stamp that is octagonal cut, almost round, has a scratch at bottom.
