Galati ...di più Romanian Post, Treaty with Austria; 1875 (March 15): Cover from Galati to Corfu, Greece, endorsed "Via Trieste", bearing a three-colour franking of 1872 Prince Carol Paris print 10 bani blue, 15 bani red-brown, and 50 bani rose, tied by GALATZI datestamp, italic "P.D." alongside, reverse with WIEN and TRIEST transit datestamps as well as KERKYRA arrival (March 15, julian). The 75 bani pre-GPU franking prepaid the full journey to the receiver with the majority of the mail here sent unpaid, scarce therefore. Illustrated in Edition d'Or volume 72 on page 134.

"FRANCO", to Corfu, franked upon arrival with 20 l. blue, clear to
large margins, tied by Kerkyra cds. Vertical folds not affecting
the stamps. A fine and rare entire

Austrian Consular Offices, Ibraila; 1866 (June 19): Unpaid Cover to
Corfu, Ionian Islands, endorsed "via Baziasch", struck by oily
IBRAILA cds in black (Tchilinghirian fig. 730).The total postage
fee until the Greek harbour was claculated with "30 / 15" soldi
(=135 lepta) in blue crayon. Upon arrival in Kerkyra the cover was
charged with additional 20 lepta for the inland part of the
journey, the total sum of "155" lepta was noted in red crayon and
paid with a five colour-franking of the Consecutive Athens Printing
5 l. green, 10 l. orange, 20 l. blue, 40 lepta mauve, and 80 l.
rose-carmine, tied by KERKYRA cds (July 18, julian). Reverse with
WIEN and TRIEST transit cds's and another KERKYRA strike. Three
stamps touched, the 10 lepta touched by a vertical file fold,
otherwise an appealing five-colour combination cover from Greece
coming from an extremely scarce office of sending. Illustrated in
Edition d'Or volume 72 on page 53, cert. Holcombe (1986).

double-circle GALATI datestamp (Kiriac fig. 394), reverse with
thimble WIEN transit cds and KERKYRA arrival (May 6, julian). Upon
arrival charged with "90" lepta in blue crayon paid with Cleaned
Plates 10 l. orange & 80 l. rose-carmine (Hellas 26+29), tied by
KERKYRA arrival cds. A fine cover in the Austrian/Greek convention
of May 1868, illustrated in Edition d'Or volume 72 on page 134,
signed Calves & Holcombe.

Syros to Corfu, with circular "T" and Greek black handstamp "60",
paid with postage due 1875, 60 l., tied by dotted "1". The stamp
with very slight toning in the perforation, otherwise very fine and
fresh. A scarce cover with the 1st postage due issue
