1897, the former tied by a Sarawak cds in black, the latter tied by
a Singapore circular datestamp (10 June) also in black. To the
reverse, an additional Singapore transit and an arrival in black
(10 July). Some staining to 2 c. and 8 c. the 8 c. torn diagonally
and replaced since cancellation, however a fine and a rare
combination; rated at 6½ times the ½ ounce of 2 c. per ounce and 8
c. for destinations beyond Straits Settlements. Cert. BPA (2003).

in black applied at Brisbane indicating the envelope was paid to
destination, one of only seven examples recorded on mail from
Queensland. Some flap tears at base on the reverse, otherwise very
fine and a very rare destination from Queensland: the finest of the
three Chalon covers recorded from Queensland to Italy. Signed
