History Collection Balance. About 100 covers or cards from
1900-1920, plus several stamps with cancellations, all neatly
mounted on black stockpages, most items neatly written up
describing cover and the ambulant office, many stamped and other
stampless military uses, includes No. 242 (Chita-Irkutsk), 259-260
(Manchuria-Chita), 261-262 (Manchuria-Harbin), 263-264
(Harbin-Vladisvostock), and 265-266 (Kwangchentze-Harbin), wide
array of destinations including some scarce uses such as Europe
(France, England, Germany), China, United States, and even Hanoi,
various different stamp issues, military handstamps, and censored
markings, few small flaws to be expected but much is Fine-Very
Fine, we highly encourage careful viewing of this impressive
offering, from the Magnolia collection

Great Britain Specialized Postal History Collection. Likely a few
hundred covers from 1790s-1940s, bit haphazardly organized though
many have sticky notes with descriptions and others on original
dealer lots cards or sleeves, heavy focus on specialty rates and
uses, we notice military covers such as one-penny concessionary
rates, first day of rates including 1p uniform penny (two covers),
wrappers, postcards, newspapers, underpaid, postage dues,
forwarded, late fees, book post, certificate of posting, and even a
group of Braille covers, many of the covers were bought
individually from dealers with prices as high as several hundred
British pounds each, we notice several British Commonwealth covers
too, some slightly mixed condition but much is Fine-Very Fine, a
lot worthy of close inspection as this could be a treasure trove
for a specialist in Great Britain postal history

Incoming Mail: 1842/43 Two covers sent from London to Gambia, one a
large format envelope endorsed "on H.M. Service" from the Treasury
to Major Maclean, with London crowned paid cds and oval 'Paid Ship
Letter / London' in red (30/6/42). The other, a commercial entire
addressed to Lieut. Glen of the 3rd West India Regiment on McCarthy
Island, River Gambia, marked 'Pd' with Charing Cross despatch
datestamp (3/7/43), rate '8' and with a 'Paid Ship Letter / London'
dated oval also in red. Both have imperfections, although very
presentable and scarce (2). Provenance: Collection John Sacher,
December 2016
