Airlines ...di più 1931 BANGKOK, THAILAND On December 6th, the KLM Royal Dutch Airlines Fokker F.VIIb/3m “Ooievaar”, while attempting to take off, the first two attempts were unsuccessful. On the third attempt, the aircraft had travelled 1,500 metres when it hit a dirt bank. The landing gear was sheared off and the aircraft crashed. While the radio operator was seriously injured, all six other occupants were killed. A large part of the mail, in spite of the conditions, was forwarded without any marking. This cover has the single black line cachet Beschadidg door vliegramp “Ooievaar” applied to both the front and back of the cover. This cachet was only used on mail to s’Gravenhage, Netherlands.
