(15) ...di più Polish Numeral Cancellations: Specialized collection with covers (15) and some used, many better items throughout with 1867 entire via Granica to Pest franked at the 14 kopek rate, bearing 1 kop., 3 kop. and 10 kop. all tied by square "1" (Varsaw); fine range of combination frankings to both domestic and foreign destinations with 18 kopek to Switzerland, 26 kopek to Great Britain, 28 kopek to France, etc., also a fine choice of four-ring numeral cancellations on- and off covers including three entires with "12" (Grojec) "239" (Nieszawa) and "16" (Ruda Guzowska), and more. A delightful assembly, in slightly mixed condition.

of ...di più 1860/1874: Collection of covers (23), mainly showing a wide range of Polish cancellations with a strong emphasis on railway postmarks; includes two entires, each bearing 10 kop. brown and blue used twice to defraud the post, respectively from Suwalki and Dworzec Terespolski (the latter ex Agathon Fabergé and Kirchner, signed Bojanowicz), some better single-rate frankings from Miechow (1874), Sierdaz (1873) and Sandomierz (1874, signed Rachmanow), a group illustrating foreign rates with Austria, Germany, Switzerland and France, 1870 entire to Tarare franked at the 28 kopek rate and bearing the scarcer 1866 5 kop. black and greyish blue (Mi.-Nr. 20xb), and more. A few covers signed or with Mikulski certificate. An appealing lot, somewhat mixed condition.

(Ostrolenka, Bojanowicz rarity 5), "176" (Dabrowa), "187" (Tomaszow
rawski" and "224" (Turek), each with matching prephilatelic
handstamp as dispatch marking. A fine and very scarce group, neatly
mounted on exhibit pages.

Condition from pristine to suboptimal, some signed Sorani.

lozenge tying a Russian Levant 10 k. carmine/green to lettersheet
to Taganrog via “ODESSA 20 MAYA. 1869”. Minor peripheral toning of
no significance, very fine and visually appealing. Very rare and
desirable combination, featuring both the Galatz cds. and the Retta
cancel, from the known Svorono correspondence (Michel-Nr. 5)

1 k. black/yellow and 7 k. carmine/green to small mourning envelope
to Livorno, Italy, with reverse transit cds. “ALEXANDRIE” and
arrival. Envelope with missing black flap, small reinforced tear at
top and minor soiling of no significance; the 7 kopek with one
round corner. Overall very fine and attractive. A truly
extraordinary cover of great rarity, being one of only three
recorded from the Russian Post Office in this small port of the
Danube Delta (Michel-Nr. 12x, 14x)

the period of Russian occupation of the city. Very scarce

under the Treaty of Bucharest, Skulyani was the principal border

double-framed “POLUCHENO 10 APR:” arrival marking. A very fine and
attractive entire; the letter refers to the accompanying remittance
of 1,500 Ducats (!) and kindly asks the recipient to wait for the
next post for the remainder of the payment. A delightful entire
showing the convergence of a rare origin and an uncommon Galatz
postmark used as a transit marking

(Tchilinghirian Type 1, Dobin-Nr. 1.02), a very fair strike on
reverse of an official entire letter from the Kharkov Court to
Yassi, endorsed both inside and on the back flap “Kharkov 15
September (1839)”. From Jassi the cover was forwarded to Bucharest
via the weekly mail service linking the two cities, with manuscript
dockettings “6 October” (reverse) and “10 October” (inside), very
fine. An exceptional redirection and a noteworthy use of this rare
Jassi marking
