of ...di più 1860/1874: Collection of covers (23), mainly showing a wide range of Polish cancellations with a strong emphasis on railway postmarks; includes two entires, each bearing 10 kop. brown and blue used twice to defraud the post, respectively from Suwalki and Dworzec Terespolski (the latter ex Agathon Fabergé and Kirchner, signed Bojanowicz), some better single-rate frankings from Miechow (1874), Sierdaz (1873) and Sandomierz (1874, signed Rachmanow), a group illustrating foreign rates with Austria, Germany, Switzerland and France, 1870 entire to Tarare franked at the 28 kopek rate and bearing the scarcer 1866 5 kop. black and greyish blue (Mi.-Nr. 20xb), and more. A few covers signed or with Mikulski certificate. An appealing lot, somewhat mixed condition.

(Ostrolenka, Bojanowicz rarity 5), "176" (Dabrowa), "187" (Tomaszow
rawski" and "224" (Turek), each with matching prephilatelic
handstamp as dispatch marking. A fine and very scarce group, neatly
mounted on exhibit pages.

(15) ...di più Polish Numeral Cancellations: Specialized collection with covers (15) and some used, many better items throughout with 1867 entire via Granica to Pest franked at the 14 kopek rate, bearing 1 kop., 3 kop. and 10 kop. all tied by square "1" (Varsaw); fine range of combination frankings to both domestic and foreign destinations with 18 kopek to Switzerland, 26 kopek to Great Britain, 28 kopek to France, etc., also a fine choice of four-ring numeral cancellations on- and off covers including three entires with "12" (Grojec) "239" (Nieszawa) and "16" (Ruda Guzowska), and more. A delightful assembly, in slightly mixed condition.

letter from Odessa sent privately to Brody where it entered the
mail and thence to Nice, at this time under Sardinian rule etc.;
except for the occasional fault, generally fine condition.

‘Lighthouse’ binders. Early years in mixed condition, later decades
from 1923 largely unused (mounted) with occasional used examples;
from about 1960 predominantly unmounted mint. Many better sets and
issues, souvenir sheets and miniature sheets, with some specialised
areas also represented, incl. 1935 Spartacist Games, 1936 Pioneers,
imperf. mini sheets 1937 Jubilee Aviation Exhibition, 1938
Transpolar flight, 1948 Mausoleum Block and many more. A valuable
and appealing collection of substantial catalogue value.

with ...di più Civil War 1890/1924: Collection Independent States and Civil War with hundreds stamps used / unused starting with a strong Armenia section, the 'Z' overprints present up to the highest rouble values, knowledgeable described, many rouble values with competent signatures from Mikulski, Dr. Jem, Koopman, Romeko, Brun, later Soviet Armenia pictorial sets incl. the rare third Constantinople set; Georgia from Tamara to the 1923 overprints with varieties such as shifted overprints, missing perfs and so on; Azerbaijan with later overprints; Transcaucasia Soviet stars; Ukraine, Western Ukraine; Karelia; Armies such as Denikin, Wrangel, North-Western Army, Don, Kuban, Far Eastern Republic, Batum with overprinted Arms definitives and Tree issue; also Russina Post Offices in China and the Levant. A strong group with a very high catalogue value to be studied.

Condition from pristine to suboptimal, some signed Sorani.

1863 banderol stamp unused, 1876 8/10 kop. in a reconstructed pair,
1879 7/10 kop, with 'thick 7' overprint, later issues with '778' of
Trapezund and '780' of Smyrna dotted numeral cancellation, Retta
and "PLEIN MER" cancellations, rare cancellations such as
DARDANELLY datestamp or large oval "ROPIT AGENT RIZE" part strike
in violet, the majority with SMYRNE cancellation, also two 1 kop.
multiples with British SMYRNA thimble datestamps, Romanov issue up
to 10 pia. tied to pieces by SALONIKI datestamps in blue, some
RETHYMNON stamps; Russia Arms adhesives with FRANCO datestamps in
blue from the Konstantinopel P.O. (3), Arms 30 kop. with numeral
hexagon '2' of the Moscow railway station and datestamps from
SHITOMIR; the lot includes also few adhesives from Bolivia, Mexico,
and Colombia.
