red, ...di più Vilayet of Syria - Bekaa 1905: Turkey Postage Due 2 pi. black on red, utilised as a postage stamp on 1907 cover from Bekaa to Haifa, Palestine tied on despatch by bilingual "BEKAA" circular datestamp (March 5) in black (Coles & Walker fig. 70, Ziya fig. 4 rated 'R'). Reverse with bilingual "HAIFFA" cds in violet (C&W fig. 55), a most unusual usage of the Postage Due adhesive. Provenance: Collection Herry Schaefer.

Reverse of cover with Sirs-el-Layyan cds, "Ashmoun-Tanta" cds, Minuf cds, Alexandria cds (Sept 10) and Beyrouth arrival. A scarce and most attractive cover.
