GONDOKORO: 'GONDOKORO/ + U.P + ' cds four fine to very fine
large-part strikes on East Africa & Uganda 4a, 3c and 6c x2 (one on
small piece). Uganda PO -.8.1901; transferred to Sudan -.5.1914.
Egyptian presence was established by General Charles Gordon in 1874
but all of Sudan was evacuated in 1885. The Ugandan goverment had
been allowed to administer the area from the late-1890s until
control was resumed by Sudan in 1914.

on the reverse, message states "...Boots follow by post also
letter...", light stain at upper-right and minor blemishes. Nimuli
post office opened by mid-1903 (ERD 24.6.1903).

Sudan. It was in the region administered by Uganda from 1894 until
1914, when control reverted to Sudan.
