Includes three early covers franked with 1859/66 Napoleon combinations 80 c. and 40 c. (2) and 80 c. and 20 c. (1) cancelled by the French PO '1769' lozenge, all with British PO marks, and a piece with Cérès 20 c. pair and Napoleon 80 c. There are four Colombia 2 c. postal stationery cards used in Panama sent to England (2) and France (2) with French transit marks and four stampless covers, one which is sent from San Francisco to Bordeaux via Panama with forwarding agent mark. Mixed lot although a few better. A scarce assembly. Ex the Brian Moorhouse estate

(shades), もっと見る Recess in Santiago "Estancos" 1856/62: Estancos 10 c. blue (shades), the Exhibit collection on leaves with 10 c. unused examples (4) in differring shades, two used examples with pre-printing paper folds, used examples showing the watermark and shade differences (14); Multiples with extremely rare block of ten - this being one of the largest known - marginal inscription pair, three strips of three and a strip of four; cancellation study with straight line handstampss of Constitution (on bisect piece), Parral (on bisect piece), Petorca, Santa Rosa and framed "Franca"; red and blue obliterator cancels and a fine range of covers with 10 c. pair used to USA Consul in Valparaiso (ex coll'n Gerhard Blank), single franking 1861 cover with "TOME" straight line adjacent, marginal inscription 10 c. on cover to Tocopilla; two examples on cover with straight line "S.ANTONIO" adjacent, cover front to France from Concepcion bearing three 10 c. sky-blue cancelled in blue; three single franking covers (one to Peru); and bisected usages (3) including one with MOLINA straight line handstamp. An outstanding lot (47 items).

HASROUN, 2 pi. card with EL HERMEL (BEKAA) octagonal (cert. Longo),
bisected 5 pi. on cover tied by TYR cds (signed Longo), 4 pi. rate
cover tied WADI SHAHROUR via Baabda to Paris, TEO 4 m. and OMF 1 m.
on 1 c. block of six ex Beirut (rare), and a group of 27 covers
from the Banca di Roma in Beirut (plus a cheque and a balance
sheet); together with usages from Amchite, Baalbek, Batroun (2, one
to Argentina), Becherri (2, one to Japan), Behamdoun, Beirut (20,
mostly different cancels incl. EEF usages), El Choueir, Djeddet el
Matn, Djubeil, Ghazir (2), Hammana, Hasbaya, Karoun, Mardajaoun,
Nabattiye, Racheya, Rayak (2), Saida, Saida (Echelle), Zahle (2).
Some rare covers noted with viewing recommended.
